SEO Guide: Personalization & Search Engine Rankings

Personalized search results are those results that a person sees over a search engine which is not based on search engine rankings and also uses the information given by the user at that point of time i.e search history, demographics, location, and interest. In short, we can say that personalized search provides more relevant results to a particular user.
Through this blog, I will tell you the factors that affect the personalized SEO search and also how to optimize it in a best possible way.
Previously as you all know that the results of a particular keyword were same for all the users on the SERP but now.

There are some factors that will affect the personalized search over the SERP.

Country: User’s country is one of the most important factors that affect the personalization and search engine rankings. Let’s takes an example, if the user is searching for a digital marketing company in the US then they will be shown results related to the digital marketing company in the US only. While on the other hand if a user searches for a digital marketing company in India then they will be shown the results related to India only.

Locality: This is much deeper than the country; it relates to the search in a city or a particular location of the user. For example, when the user searches for the best pizza corner near me or the petrol station near me, he will get results likewise.

Web history: Through the web history of your search engine or through using your previous searches, the search engines will present you with the most relevant searches that the user like to visit.

Device: If you search for the same keyword over your desktop and your mobile device then you will find the different search results. This will happen because Google uses the different algorithm for the mobile device user to show the most relevant results by using their locality.
Keyword Tracking
Personalization has changed the search engine rankings. If your keyword is ranking on the very first page of google then it will show the different rankings on the desktop and mobile device. It simply means that you can’t get the 100% right ranking over the search engine.
