Google Chrome Now Marks HTTP Sites "Not Secure"
Google has launched Chrome 68 for desktop on July 24. In this version, Google provides more secure web browsing. If users who visit ‘not encrypted’ HTTP websites, in that case, Google Chrome will be giving warnings. In this version, Google Chrome shows all HTTP sites as ‘Not Secure’. Google is constantly working to keep you safe as you browse through the web. HTTPs makes it easier to know whether your details related to your banking and credit card details information is travelling securely across the web.
HTTPs Provide Tighter Security:
When you browse any website with HTTP, it means that your connection to the site is not encrypted. This means anyone looking at your website can look at your information and even modify your content before it gets to you. With HTTPS, all your browsing data is secure like (Debit & Credit card, password info, etc) and locks out your all-important data while sending to the site. Google Chrome warns “Not Secure” if your site is using HTTP and therefore, helps you to understand that your connection is not secured and motivates the site owner to improve the security of their website.
Also, Google Chrome has started marking those pages that collect credit card and debit card details and password info. So chrome began popping the “Not Secure” warning in two additional situations:
- When people enter the data on an HTTP page.
- All HTTP pages visited in Incognito mode.
